Elliott qualified in 2003 from the University of Southampton and commenced his professional career in Cardiff. Prior to this, he had worked as a physiotherapy assistant in Stoke-on-Trent since 1998. During his time as a junior physiotherapist in South Wales, he gained further experience working in areas such as mental health, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopaedic medicine, elderly rehabilitation, respiratory medicine, surgical, paediatrics, hydrotherapy and musculoskeletal outpatients. His first senior post was spent working in intensive care as well as leading the rehabilitation of post-op amputee patients. Whilst in Cardiff, Elliott worked part-time for Cardiff Blues Rugby Club as well as working full-time for Cardiff City Football Club.
In 2006 Elliott moved to Colchester where he continued to work with various sports clubs including swimming and rugby teams. He also worked at a local private hospital; specializing in musculoskeletal outpatients, which enabled him to build close relations with local orthopaedic consultants and other specialists’ consultants/sports physicians and podiatrists. During his time at this hospital, Elliott specialised in treating spinal conditions working as an Extended Scope Practitioner (ESP) alongside the spinal and pain consultants, requesting scans and blood tests as well as orchestrating complex spinal patients’ management.
In July 2009, Elliott commenced working for Lane Physiotherapy Ltd at the newly opened Braintree and Bocking Physiotherapy Clinic and started practicing at the Halstead Physiotherapy Clinic in November 2009. Elliott continues to stay abreast of the latest research and treatment techniques within the physiotherapy profession and regularly attends post-graduate training courses. Elliott also continues to work on a local orthopaedic ward on a regular basis to keep up-to-date with the latest surgical techniques and post-op inpatient rehabilitation programs.
His specialist areas are spinal injuries, sports medicine and general rehabilitation. Elliott has received additional training in the treatment and assessment of problems with dizziness/vertigo. He is experienced in developing bespoke vestibular rehabilitation plans and performing special inner-ear maneuvers to resolve problems with dizziness and balance.

How long is an appointment?
Do I need to see my GP for a referral?
No a GP referral is not essential. We welcome self-financing patients without GP referral. However, we do work closely with local GPs in order to provide the very best level of care.
However, if you wish to claim your physiotherapy from your health insurance, some insurers require a doctor’s referral before you can be reimbursed.
